We were looking to add gamification to our adult learning for face-to-face training as we believed this would further enhance the learning experience, drive engagement and motivation, encourage collaboration and social interaction, and improve retention and application of knowledge. We currently utilise Wildgoose software on our Brand immersion courses to give delegates a fun onboarding experience which has a different ‘look and feel’ to a traditional training session.
The games are fairly easy to create and maintain, and there’s a wealth of functionality which can be used to create variety learning methods within each session. We’ve found elements like points, badges, and leaderboards make learning more interactive and engaging. It encourages active participation rather than passive listening, leading to better retention and understanding of the material, and allows us to include simulations and role-playing scenarios that mimic real-world situations, helping learners to apply theoretical knowledge in practical contexts.
We run between 5-10 events per month and with each event consisting of around 30 people. These are usually split between 4-8 teams depending on the format of the event.
For us as an organisation, we can create a game template which can be used for all of our inductions. This can then be re-used and re-branded for each partner. It allows both trainers and learners to track progress through measurable outcomes like scores and achievements. We can also analyse game performance data to identify areas where learners struggle and adjust the training accordingly.
There has been immense support provided throughout our usage of the platform, whether it be the initial setup with game creation/maintenance process or on-going support with how we can better use the functionality of the platform. We have never experienced any technical issues regarding system outages or anything that has led us to having to cancel an event. It has been a reliable piece of software that has enabled us to elevate our learning experience across the board.
